You never see growth happen until it's already happened!

I was just looking at some great newborn shots of Liam that my friend Lindsay of Lindsay Carol Photography took, and I'm amazed at how much he's changed in 3 1/2 months! This little guy was just a lump of cuteness at ten days old. Now he's interacting socially, charming everyone with his smile, melting his mama's heart with every laugh. He's growing in independence every day, standing up (with my help) on those strong legs and exploring the world with his eyes, his fingers, and most definitely his mouth!!
But when did it happen? Although there are days when I could swear I see him growing in front of my eyes, it's a mystery. And I have a feeling his growth will continue just as mysteriously until I'm in awe of my baby graduating, marrying and even raising his own brood. I'm trying to capture and delight in every moment, not desiring to make time stand still, but to dive into the minutes and the seconds with Liam as he grows and fully experience life with him in the present. Wow, what a miraculous mystery it is to love and raise a child. I am blessed beyond measure.
(If you'd like to check out the newborn photos that Lindsay so artistically captured, the password is "ellis.")
